“The first time my child weaned, parang naiiyak ako. Iba kase yung bond na nabubuo when you look at your child tapos nakatingin rin sya sayo while they breastfeed.”

Sotto also stressed the importance of having breastfeeding support groups for moms who are experiencing difficulties in breastfeeding.

“Maswerte ang mga mommies ngayon kase may breastfeeding support groups na handang tumulong kapag nahihirapan sila. Kaya thank you sa lahat ng BFSG members and to all advocates for your efforts.”

The Quezon City Health Department aims to make the Summit an annual event and hopes to have more awardees in the coming years.
