8 March 2019 –The Manila City Health Office holds to its commitment of building a mother-baby community by spearheading another milk-letting activity in collaboration with Land Bank of the Philippines, Philippine General Hospital, and World Vision Development Foundation. The event was held at the Land Bank Plaza in the city of Manila attended by a total of 53 mothers comprising of both Land Bank employees and community mothers of Manila.
Milk letting stations were set up with the assistance of doctors, medical technologists, midwives, and local health workers. The activity also included free HIV testing. World Vision’s Mother-Baby Friendly Philippines project team also encouraged all participants to download the MBFP mobile application to help in the monitoring of breastfeeding-related legislations in the country.
The donations accounted to a total 6.2 liters of breastmilk which was turned over to the Philippine General Hospital.
In the same event, Land Bank received their renewed Mother-Baby Friendly Facility certification from the Department of Health-NCR.
